We had a great vacation and enjoyed the cabin!  It's been difficult adjusting to reality again.  I miss the mountains.  Again, thank you for everything - as I wrote in the comment book - we very much appreciated the time and effort and details (even down to the Ingles advantage card) you provided to make sure that we had a great time.  The directions to everywhere were invaluable.  Our sons will talk about the whitewater rafting trip for years to come (one was tossed out of the raft at "the falls" and has a complete set of pictures to share with the world on Facebook).  We visited Fontana Dam, hiked in the National Park, tubed in Deep Creek, biked Cades Cove on Wednesday morning and saw a bear cross the path right in front of us!  My husband and son are train buffs and rode to Dillsboro while our more cosmopolitan son and I enjoyed the the afternoon having a great cup of coffee in Great Perks, complete with internet access, and explored the towns of Bryson City and Dillsboro in search of the perfect souvenir gift for his girlfirend.  We got to do everything we hoped to see and do except for Biltmore - it was a little too far and would take a little too long to tour with our Scooter in a crate at the cabin - so we'll come back to the area for a long weekend so we can see it.  Thank you again.  We have rented from VRBO & Home Away for many years and in many different states - but you win the award for being the most thoughtful and helpful landlord - truly committed to making our vacation a great one.  We will recommend your properties to all of our friends and family who want a special trip to the Great Smokies.

The cabin was awesome and we had a great time in the area.  We kayaked, mountain biked, hiked, swam, tubed and swam some more, and swam some more!  The kids had a great time.  We told them about the bears and most mornings when our daughter woke up she would take her books or her notebook and pens and sit outside on the porch and wait for the bears.  She was disappointed that she never got to see them.  Thanks again and I'm sure you will see us again!  Have a great summer.

We had a lovely time in your cabin and your neck of the woods.  We really enjoyed exploring the area, and covered quite a bit of distance...visiting the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Andrews and the Fontana Dam area and the Yellow Branch Cheese and Pottery, Deep Creek trails, Franklin, Highlands, Nantahala Lake  and amazing Rainbow Ridge that went on forever.  All in all a very nice and interesting vacation.  The landscape there is amazing to me.  Will definitely think of Stonewood for another visit.  Have a lovely summer.

We had a really great time on our first official family vacation.  The cabin is so wonderful and the location was perfect.  It was so nice to sleep with windows open every night.  The baby even slept in an hour later every morning.  Woody loves the mountains, and even played with the neighbor dog a little.

We absolutely LOVED the cabin.  We were telling everyone about it here and want to return again in a couple years with more people (freinds or family, whoever we can convince)!  Our honeymoon was perfect, everything about it was great, the weather, the people, the activities, we had a great time!  Please thank Angie for the basket, it was an awesome touch!  I wanted to utilize her services but I had no idea what to expect in our schedule (one night we missed dinner after exploring the Tail of the Dragon - followed hundreds of Mini Coopers).  I couldn't think of one thing I didn't like about the area, I even talked to NOC about job opportunities!!   The upper driveway did have a bit of a learning curve, but by the last day I was backing in like I had been doing it for years.  We were truly blessed during our stay.  Thank you again so much!

Thank you so much for everything.  Everyone had a wonderful time and it was the best vacation I have ever been on.  All my one friend wanted to do was find a really nice waterfall and with your directions to the Nantahala Lake we did and she was really happy.  We all went horseback riding so the hot tub came in handy!  Thank you again for everything.  We are hoping to be able to do it in the late summer/fall.  We are starting to save right now.

Our daughter is working at the Nantahala Outdoor Center for the 2007 season and we wanted accommodations close by.  Stonewood cabin was perfect!  We were so excited to find such a cozy and comfortable cabin nestled on the side of the mountain just above the beautiful NOC!  Stonewood Cabin had every amenity we needed...plenty of beds; a fully equipped kitchen (I only packed my favorite iron skillet); great porches with rockers and a swing; a hot tub; and many other thoughtful amenities.  We had morning coffee on the porches while watching birds, squirrels and chipmunks raid the feeders.  We cooked morning and evening meals in the well-equipped kitchen.  We sat on the porch at the "golden hour" watching the soft glow of yellows and greens filter through the leaves as the mountain swallowed the blaze of colors at sundown.  We've not felt such peace and relaxation in a very long time.  Most of all..we felt very much at home at Stonewood Cabin.  Our stay was indeed perfect!  Oh..I even rafted the Nantahala with my daughter!  We made many wonderful and unforgettable memories Memorial Day Weekend and have started planning our next visit!  It will definitely include Stonewood Cabin!  Thanks again for sharing it with us!

In short, everything about the birthday boating marathon was perfect, even better than I imagined.  Your cabin was ideal.  It's so great that you are pet friendly and smoke free, and the cabin is so well equipped and comfortable.  We had a delightful time.  I hope we will get to come back sometime.

The cabin was great!  Everything was very neat and clean - whoever does your cleaning does and excellent job.  It was very cozy and warm with the fire going.  The Polar Express ride was lots of fun also - the little ones really enjoyed it.  Thanks again for all your info before we got up there and I hope we can stay again sometime.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us this past weekend.  We had such an amazing time and enjoyed everything that it and Bryson  City had to offer.  The views were great.  I fed the chipmunks, replenished the bird feed, and loved waking up in the morning to enjoy the chipmunks scurrying around.  You also have a woodpecker starting to make its home in the pine tree outside the cabin.  Thank you again and we are already looking forward to another trip up to the cabin, but this time, in the summer.

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your cabin.  Stonewood is a clean, comfortable and very well equipped place to relax and enjoy the area.  Daniel had us fishing in the river behind your lodge.  It will definitely be considered next time we come down.

We had a wonderful weekend up at the cabin.  It was a very comfortable place to come back to after hiking around all day!  Our first day there we hiked Kephart Prong in the park, which was really pretty.  It runs up a mountain alongside a river, with foot logs for crossing.  The second day, we hiked all over the Deep Creek area in the park and saw Tom  Branch Falls, Indian Creek Falls and Juneywhank Falls.  We also made it over to Mingo Falls on the Cherokee Reservation.  It was beautiful!  Anyway, we had a blast, and it was the perfect escape for us.  Thanks again!

We had a wonderful time at your cabin.  I think we tried to do everything on your list of favorite things so we were very busy!  Your suggestions were awesome.  We tubed Deep Creek, white water rafted the Nantahala, visited Joyce Kilmer, took the Tail of the Dragon to Tennessee, visited Wayah Bald, hiked the Appalachian trail around the NOC and up to Wesser Bald, and toured Cherokee including Mingo Falls and Clingman's Dome.  Due to the unpredictable weather in the evenings, we did not go to the outdoor drama. We  did end up going to Tsali and we were glad we did it.  If anyone wants to bike Tsali without committing their day to it, I'd suggest what we did which is go on the day that the Right and Left Loop are open to bikers.  We took the Right Loop which allows you to take a cut-off so the trip is 4-miles versus 8-11 miles.  That was plenty for us since we had our dog with us.  We also took an 11 mile trail suggested by the NOC that ran along the Nantahala on FS 3088 (Rivers End Road, I think).  It was a lovely trip and we could bike beside each other.  We really appreciated being so close to NOC and enjoyed spending time there eating and watching the river.  Both kids had such a good time that they tried to persuade us to call you to see if we could stay another week!  I've really missed having coffee on the front porch this week.  That was a very important part of our morning ritual and the kids enjoyed coming out to join us.  What a beautiful part of North Carolina.  Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

Your cabin is wonderful!  We had a great time!  The leaves were beautiful and seemed to noticeably change from day to day.  It was definitely one of our most memorable vacations.  We were able to see your Lodge while on a jeep tour.  We are likely to contact you in the future regarding renting it.  The men folk in our family would love to be on the river.  Thanks for sharing your cabin with us.  We will definitely recommend it to others.
